Aljur Abrenica reacts to AJ Raval's revelation about having kids together
Aljur Abrenica has shared his thoughts about his partner AJ Raval's revelation that they share three children.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the actor revealed his relief about the whole situation.
"Nabunutan tayo ng tinik. 'Yung pamilya ko, puwede na kaming... hindi na kami nangangambang lumabas. Hindi na nagtatago," he said.
"'Yun naman 'yung pinagpapasalamat ko sa Panginoon—nabigyan ng kalayaan 'yung mga bata. Kasi 'yun ang gusto namin, na maging masaya sila," he added.
In a November interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Raval, 25, revealed she and Abrenica, 35, have three children together in addition to two of her own from a previous relationship. This came after years of keeping this fact a secret.
Raval admitted that it was her, not Abrenica, who wanted to keep their kids away from the public eye as it was how she was raised by her father, actor Jeric Raval, as well.
“Hindi ko po siya nakikitang problema kasi gano’n din po ‘yung pinagdaanan namin sa tatay ko. Tinago din po kami for a time. Lumalaki po kami, naintindihan po namin ‘yung sitwasyon,” she said.
The actress only confirmed the existence of her and Abrenica's kids after her father let the fact slip during a media interview in September.
Like Abrenica's reaction, Raval felt relieved that the truth was finally out.
“Masaya po talaga ako no’n. Kasi no’ng time po na ‘yon, nag-a-ask na po ako, nagpe-pray po ako ng freedom. And then ‘yung tatay ko, biglang nadulas. Blessing in disguise, Tito Boy. Masaya kami. Masaya ako,” Raval said.
From 2018 to 2021, Abrenica was married to actress Kylie Padilla. They bore two children. By 2021, however, Padilla confirmed her split from Abrenica.
Soon after, rumors surfaced about Abrenica and Raval dating. The two were costars in the 2021 film Nerisa, where they played siblings. It was only two years later, on Feb. 14, 2023, that they went Instagram official.
About a year later, they dismissed rumors that they had a love child.
