Dreaming of a Vietnam getaway from Cebu?

Vietjet has announced a new direct route connecting Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City, set to launch on Dec. 11.

The airline will operate five round-trip flights weekly, effectively doubling its flight capacity between the Philippines and Vietnam.

As Vietnam’s largest city and economic hub, Ho Chi Minh City serves as a gateway to major international destinations across Asia and Europe. Cebu, meanwhile, remains a key tourism and business center in the Visayas, with easy access to destinations such as Bohol and Siargao.

Apart from Cebu, Vietjet flights operate from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Vietnam is now the eighth most popular international destination for Filipinos, with over 300,000 outbound travelers recorded from January to October 2025, according to the Department of Tourism.
