Carlos Yulo bags PH second gold at 2026 Asian Games

Carlos Yulo just bagged the Philippines' second 2026 Asiad gold!

The gymnastics ace Yulo secured the win with a clean second vault, scoring 14.466 from a 5.2 difficulty and a 9.266 execution score during the men's vault final at the 2026 Asian Games happening in Nagoya.

He held off Iran’s Mahdi Olfati, who took silver with an average of 14.533 after a huge 15.100 on his first vault. Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Ki completed the podium with 14.116 for bronze.

He came off hot from his first gold medal win, ruling the men’s floor exercise final with a score of 14.666.

Fellow Filipino gymnast Juancho Miguel Besana also delivered a strong and competitive performance in the elite championship field.

Besana secured fifth place overall with an average score of 13.783, posting scores of 13.766 and 13.800 in his two runs.

Yulo secured his second gold medal at the Asian Games is his latest addition to a decorated career that includes two Olympic golds, three World Championships titles, 11 Asian Championships golds, and nine Southeast Asian Games golds.
