BTS gave a teaser of its new album, ARIRANG, on Apple Music, addressing their global fans directly.

In a 37-second clip called ARMYRANG on Apple Music, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jung Kook, Jimin, and V greeted their fans and shared tidbits about their upcoming fifth album.

"Here we are. BTS," begins RM and the rest of the group.

They then take turns to complete the message.

"We are so excited to share our new album, ARIRANG. This album reflects the combination of our journey to date as BTS. And it also defines us on our own terms. We've been waiting for this moment for a long time. And we prepared this album thinking of our fans. Every track has a unique story and vibes, so we hope you enjoy all of them."

Set to be released on March 20, the 14-track album is the first one BTS is releasing after the group took a hiatus in June 2022 so its members could complete their mandatory military service. According to a report by Forbes, all the members were involved in creating the songs in ARIRANG, which musically describes the group's struggles and triumphs throughout their journey to date.

What does 'ARIRANG' mean?

The title of Korea's famous folk song, "Arirang," is one of Korea's cultural symbols, often translated as "my beloved one." Its lyrics talk about love and separation, and also celebrate resilience. Koreans consider the song as a representation of their country's soul, or "han."

Released by BIGHIT MUSIC, ARIRANG will have four versions: Rooted in Korea Ver., Rooted in Music Ver., Living Legend Ver., and Weverse Albums Ver. Each one comes with photo books, photocards, posters, and collectible packaging.

Vinyl versions of the album will also be available: Modern Korea Vinyl, Group Red Vinyl, Deluxe Vinyl B&W Ver., and Standard Vinyl editions based on each member—RM Silver Vinyl, Jin Pink Vinyl, SUGA Clear Vinyl, j-hope Cream Vinyl, Jimin Burgundy Vinyl, V Velvet Red Vinyl, and Jung Kook Orchid Vinyl.

ARIRANG is available for pre-order starting today, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. (Philippine time) at the Weverse shop or other overseas retailers.

Following their album launch, BTS will be kicking off their massive two-year global tour on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea. They will then head over to Tokyo, Japan, North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, performing 79 shows in 34 regions.

Their Manila leg is set on March 13 and 14, 2027. Location details are yet to be released.
