Get to know Miss Grand International 2026 Jihan Dimack
After months of tireless sacrifices, late-night training, and relentless dedication came to a breathtaking climax as Jihan Dimack of Tanzania was officially crowned Miss Grand International 2026.
On the glittering stage in Bangkok, Thailand, the Tanzanian-Lebanese beauty poured her heart into every step, rising above 79 other contenders through sheer grit and grace. This has made her become the first Tanzanian woman and the first African to win the Miss Grand International crown.
When asked the final question—"What qualities should an empowered woman possess?"—she delivered a heartfelt answer that paid tribute to her mother:
"I believe the quality she possesses is a kind heart, and to me, the perfect example is my mother. She's a woman that is kind to others. She's a woman that places others before herself. She's a woman that is always ready to serve. To me, I believe that is a quality that allows you to lead with kindness. That is a quality that allows you to change the world, and that is a quality that allows you to reach to a person far beyond the physical, and that is to the heart. And I just want to say tonight, thank you, mom, for inspiring me to be that woman. Thank you."
Before Dimack embarks on her global journey, here is a closer look at the hardworking queen behind the title.
She grew up in different places
Growing up, Dimack and her family moved constantly due to her mother’s work—an experience that gave her a deep appreciation for different cultures and people.
"My family never really settled in one place long enough for me to either maintain friends or continue with my studies in the particular systems. I was raised in a city in Mozambique called Beira and grew up in Nampula and Maputo. We moved to Lebanon before we permanently settled in our homeland Tanzania just a few years back," she told Citizen Newspaper in 2016.
She started working at 17
Raised alongside four siblings by a single mother, Dimack began working at just 17 years old to help support her family.
"'She's a single mom, so I had to start working at a very young age," she shared in an interview with Miss Grand International. "So I truly understand how to be responsible leadership and take care of a family."
Despite a "very tough upbringing," the beauty queen persevered to pursue her dreams in modeling and pageantry, and at the same time becoming an inspiration to younger women.
"I just want to be a voice to young girls or any women out there that it doesn't matter what you've gone through in life or what you faced, if you're born to do this, there is a way out, and you can fight, and you can become the woman that you're called to be," she continued.
Dimack eventually placed second runner-up at Miss Tanzania in 2014 before representing Tanzania at Miss Universe 2016.
In 2026, she won the title Miss Grand Tanzania 2026 after representing Mwanza at the national competition.
She is into outdoor activities
In a 2016 interview with Dar Life, Dimack revealed that she grew up as a "tomboy," playing all sorts of outdoorsy sports.
"I grew up as a tomboy; it was all about football, mountain climbing, hunting in the country, video games and jumping. This all was influence from my brother. I love a good competition so apparently he always knew how to push my bottoms and I had to try to be better than him at what he does," she said.
