Bela Padilla and tech CEO Martin Tan have called it quits, the actress announced.

On Sept. 27, Rekonek star took to Instagram to share news about their breakup. This comes less than a month after she confirmed that they had been dating for eight months.

She prefaced her announcement with some details about their relationship.

"Martin and I have been dating for the past few months, and this was the first relationship where I was truly swept off my feet. We share the same love for films, food markets, our work, and, most of all, genuinely being together," the actress wrote.

Padilla added that she kept their romance private, as it was her first relationship where she felt "most like and unlike" herself.

"I'm writing this because we all enjoyed the videos of us in the Legazpi market. We all saw a new couple, a bit shy and awkward. But what you never got a glimpse of is us having the best and also hardest days for a couple of months now," she said.

"I'm deciding for both of us to move forward separately to save whatever we can of ourselves and how we see each other. I think sometimes, loving someone also means knowing when to let go, before you lose the good things you saw in each other."

Despite ending things, Padilla described Tan as one of "the most fun, smartest, and most charming" people she's met.

She also wished him the best.

"Thank you for rooting for us from afar, and for giving us the space when you us around and now to move forward separately."

Padilla confirmed their relationship in an Instagram reel interview with content creator Johnny K for his Meet Cute with Johnny K series.

The former pair said they met through a common friend and bonded over their love for movies.

Padilla and Tan, the CEO of AI software company Tenext.ai, sparked dating rumors months ago after being spotted together on several occasions.
