Valentine's weekend is just around the corner! Got plans already?
But before you lock in that dinner or brunch reservation, take a second look at the calendar. This weekend is packed with events that celebrate love in all its shapes and forms.
If you aren't in the mood for a candlelit table, you can dive into the local art scene, catch a powerful stage performance, or even join a historical memorial walk. Here are some events to catch this Feb. 13 to 15.
Feb. 13: An Evening with Wuthering Heights: A Live Reading Experience
Spend your pre-Valentine's evening solo or with someone immersed in a classic 19th Century English love story with Greenbelt 3 Garden's lush greens in the background.
Presented by Fully Booked, stage actors Gab Pangilinan and Alfredo Reyes are sure to listen to a lively and nuanced reading of Emily Brontë’s timeless tale of passion and longing as guests get to relax and fellow readers over good drinks.
The event starts at 5 p.m. Come early as slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Feb. 13: Spring Awakening: A Musical
In to see veteran and young thespians rocking their hearts out?
You'd better not miss The Sandbox Collective’s staging of the eight Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, opening this Friday and lasting until March 22 at The Black Box at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell Center, Makati.
Set in 19th-century Germany, this groundbreaking rock musical is about a group of teenagers navigating adolescence in a repressive society. Playing in the male lead is Nic Chien, Broadway star Lea Salonga's son; this production is a sure must-watch.

Feb. 14: Love on Stage: A Live Theatrical Experience
Ever seen a Shakespeare play? There is no better time to see timeless stories of romance, tragedy, and wit come to life than on Valentine's Day!
Five Shakespearean vignettes will be performed live by Playbook Club Groundlings at the Greenbelt 3 Gardens.
Seating is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to give space to the actors as they will be interacting with the audience. Flash photography is not allowed.
Feb. 13-15: 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta
Is sky watching a hobby both you and your beloved enjoy? Then marvel at enormous, vibrant, special-shaped balloons from around the world at the 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.
Dubbed “A Weekend of Everything that Flies,” the three-day event features thrilling internationally-recognized competitions and sky-high spectacles.
Feb. 13-15: Love & Matcha: A Manila Matcha Fest
Are you guys matcha lovers? If you don't get an ick for the beverage staple, then this event is for you!
Get your hands on everything green—from pastries to cold drinks—as concessionaires showcase their offerings. Grab your chance to bond with fellow matcha enthusiasts, too!

Feb. 15: About Us But not About Us Theater Adaptation
This theater production adapts Jun Robles Lana’s 2022 thriller, which stars recurring leads Romnick Sarmenta and Elijah Canlas, joined by Epy Quizon and a powerhouse theatrical cast.
Directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, the story follows a tense conversation between a literature professor and his student that spirals into secrets, betrayal, and unsettling truths.
