Visiting Korea? This pass gives you transit discounts, free attraction passes in Busan
Seoul gets all the attention, but South Korea wants you to look beyond the capital.
Surprisingly, only 16% of international visitors make it to Busan—home to gorgeous beaches and scenic hillside views. To get more travelers venturing out, tourism officials just kicked off the K-Tour Pass pilot program in Busan on Oct. 1.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization introduced the pass to make regional travel more convenient for international visitors, particularly those traveling independently.
Priced at KRW 15,000, or around P692, the K-Tour Pass comes in two options. The first includes a 40% discount on transportation to Busan, while the second offers a KRW 24,000 discount when purchasing a two- to five-day Korail Pass.
Both options also come with free admission to one of around 35 participating attractions in Busan. These include Lotte World Busan, Songdo Marine Cable Car, Skyline Luge Busan, Busan X the Sky, SeaLife Busan Aquarium, and Arte Museum Busan.
The pass also includes a WOWPASS card, which can be used as a prepaid payment card and transit card. Travelers will need to load money onto the card separately.
With this pass, tourists can get discounts at around 50 participating businesses, including cafés, souvenir shops, experience centers, and other tourist destinations in Busan.
A physical WOWPASS card is also available at kiosks in Incheon, Gimpo, and Gimhae international airports, as well as Seoul and Busan stations. Travelers can top up the card using Korean won or international credit cards.
The K-Tour Pass is currently being tested in Busan, with the transportation discount coupons and mobile ticket valid until Dec. 31. Following the pilot program, the Korean government plans to improve the service and potentially expand its transportation and tourism benefits to five major tourism zones centered around regional airports in 2027.
