More cast members of Ang Tahanan ni Bernarda Alba, which stars Lea Salonga, have been revealed.

Salonga will portray the titular character, who is described as a formidable matriarch determined to protect her family. Following the death of her second husband, she imposes a strict eight-year mourning period for her five daughters, with silence, discipline, tradition, and appearances reigning supreme.

Things take a turn as her daughters' desires, frustrations, jealousies, and dreams refuse to remain contained. The arrival of a potential suitor also puts things over the edge.

Among the accomplished stage performers joining Salonga is Sheila Francisco, who will play Bernarda’s elderly mother María Josefa.

Francisco previously received a Gawad Buhay Award for Best Featured Actress for her portrayal of Justice Hernandez in Bar Boys: A New Musical and played Tiya Dely in Ang Huling El Bimbo. She also became the first Filipina to perform at London’s National Theatre in South Pacific, later joining its UK tour as Bloody Mary.
