Kep1er's Youngeun moves on from K-pop group
Seo Youngeun is departing from the K-pop girl group Kep1er.
Kep1er’s agencies WAKEONE and KLAP Entertainment on Friday released an official statement announcing that Youngeun will be leaving the group. The group, however, will continue its activities as a six-member group.
"Moving forward, Kepler will continue its activities as a six-member group, consisting of CHOI YUJIN, XIAOTING, KIM CHAEHYUN, KIM DAYEON, HIKARU, and HUENING BAHIYYIH. SEO YOUNGEUN, who has been part of Kepler's precious journey since their debut in 2022, will conclude her activities with the group," they wrote.
They said they had a mutual agreement between their artist after "in-depth discussions regarding her future direction."
"After careful consideration, we have come to this decision," they wrote. "The Kep1er members also respect SEO YOUNGEUN's decision based on their mutual trust and are sending her their warm support."
The agencies expressed their gratitude to Youngeun "for her sincerity and passion as a member of the team, and we will sincerely support her future endeavors."
"Kep1er will open a new chapter as a six-member group. We will do our best to repay Keplian with better music and performances," they promised.
Since July 2025, Yeongeun has been on hiatus to focus on her health. Her agencies, WAKEONE and KLAP Entertainment, confirmed she is following professional medical advice to ensure a full recovery.
