The Aivee Clinic is No. 1 for the 5th Golden Record Awards at the 2020 Merz Aesthetics Asia Pacific Awards

The Aivee Clinic has been elevating the standards in the Philippine aesthetic and dermatology industry for over a decade as one of the best in the country. Faced with a pandemic this year, they were quick to respond to the challenges posed by the new normal.

The pandemic did not stop them from bagging the prestigious Overall 7-star Champion Award, along with the other five awards at the 2020 Merz Tala Awards held remotely via video conferencing in September. Dr. Aivee and Dr. Z received their awards from their homes as they sheltered for safety.

During the 5th Golden Record Awards at the 2020 Merz Aesthetics Asia Pacific Awards held recently in Makati, another set of awards honored the clinic: the Accelerated Growth Ultherapy Transducers Asia Pacific Category B (Regional), 1st Runner Up – Highest Achievement Ultherapy Transducers Asia Pacific Category B (Regional), Merz Portfolio Highest Achievement (Country), and Ultherapy Transducers Highest Achievement (Country).

What makes The Aivee Clinic No. 1 in Ulthera? Seventeen percent year on year growth in doing more than 2,500 Ultherapy treatments in spite of the pandemic and lockdown, as compared to the year before. The Aivee Clinic now accounts for doing 26% of all Ulthera treatments in the country. Because of this, The Aivee Clinic won the highest international accolade: accelerated growth in the whole Asia-Pacific region due to 17% growth, which is the highest growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

These awards give The Aivee Clinic the recognition of being one of the top-performing Merz Portfolio providers in Asia, rising above other competitors in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Merz Aesthetics, the company behind Ultherapy, first presented the Golden Record Awards in 2016 as a way to give back and to recognize their top-performing partners across the world in promoting the Ultherapy treatment.

Ultherapy is a US FDA-approved non-invasive ultrasound skin-tightening procedure that targets saggy skin and stimulates the production of new collagen that will keep the skin tight and lifted. Dr. Aivee and Dr. Z accepted the awards during an intimate awarding ceremony with Merz executives and friends of The Aivee Clinic, including actress Bela Padilla.

“More than anything else, we are just happy that The Aivee Clinic has given recognition not only to the Philippines, but to the whole local aesthetic industry — that despite the pandemic, we can still rise above all the struggles and challenges that we have faced this year, and that we can do better,” Dr. Aivee said.

Dr. Z Teo was equally thankful for the recognition. “When we set up the Aivee Clinic, I always told Aivee that our vision for The Aivee Clinic is to be recognized on an international stage. We want to look more towards not just being local, but as someone who is respected on the international stage. We are just really happy and proud that we have managed to do that,” he said.

He emphasized that it’s a team effort. “Together with all our hardworking staff and doctors, I will never forget to give honor to my wife for being the hardest-working person in the whole country in this industry.”

He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for his second home. “This award is not only just for us, but it’s also for the whole country in the Philippines, even though I am Singaporean. I always call the Philippines my second home.”

He also took the time to share his optimism for a new beginning after the storm passes. He says, “This has been a difficult year for all of us. But I believe with these awards, this is going to signal a new beginning. The industry will rebound and there will be better days. Let today be the day where we will start the recovery, and the shoots of recovery for the industry, and the country, and for all of us.”
