By now, we've all seen the questionable viral photo of a lotto winner receiving her check from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. It has since drawn laughs and became the subject of memes among brands and content creators.

The PCSO chief admitted on Thursday that the picture was edited to "protect the identity of the winner." General Manager Melquiades Robles explained that some winners were complaining that their neighbors still recognized them through their clothes even if they were wearing masks and sunglasses.

"Sana naman daw po ‘wag ipakita ‘yong damit, so ‘yan po ang reason niyan," he said.
