Start-Up’s Kang Han Na and Kim Do Wan to reunite as lovers in new K-drama
Who here was bitin when Kim Do Wan confronted Kang Han Na during Start-Up's final episode? Same, girl, same.
Even if it was only brief conversation, it was a love-team in the making—one that could potentially lead to something more if only it the show didn't end so soon. But moving on to better things, Kang Han Na and Kim Do Wan will still have a chance to explore their on-screen chemistry on their newest K-drama where they reunite and play as potential lovers.
The two will be part of tvN Drama's Frightening Cohabitation, which is based on a popular webtoon of the same title. It is about "a female college student named Lee Dam (Hyeri) who accidentally swallows the marble of a 999-year-old male gumiho (a mythical nine-tailed fox) named Shin Woo Yeo (Jang Ki Yong)," said Soompi.
In the new drama, Kang Han Na will play as Yang Hye Sun, a female gumiho-turned human "who has an innocent heart despite her stunning good looks." Poised and perfect like her character in Start-Up, Kang Ha Na's character "is actually rather clumsy and naive."
Kim Do Wan will star as Do Jae Jin, who is a hopeless romantic that is "ready to give up everything, including his life and organs" for his love. He is also Lee Dam’s close friend and ends up falling in love with Yang Hye Sun.
In a statement, a production staff said, “Our strong lineup, which began with Jang Ki Yong and Hyeri, is complete with the addition of Kang Han Na, Kim Do Wan, and Bae In Hyuk, trendy actors who bring talent, visuals, and their unique appeal to their roles. Please look forward to the synergy that the cast creates together.”
This upcoming drama will be written by Baek Sun Woo and Choi Bo Rim, the same writers of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and directed by Nam Sung Woo, who produced Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (who also stars Start-Up's Nam Joo-hyuk!).
Frightening Cohabitation will premiere in the first half of 2021.
