Police escort drunk man lying in the street back home, only to find marijuana plants in the pantry
In Nottingham, England, a drunk man had to be taken home by the police. But things got worse when they discovered marijuana plants in his residence.
Local outlet The Nottingham Post reported that the police were called to the side of the road in Annesley village in Mansfield town as someone was lying in the street just after midnight on Aug. 20.
They escorted the man to his home but upon arrival, they smelled marijuana.
A pantry room was slightly opened and had a bright light. They went inside and found 22 small marijuana plants.
The police were prompted to search the man's house, finding another room with 16 baby plants. They seized all of the plants.
The man, reportedly in his 50s, will attend an interview "in due course."
"We take drug supply extremely seriously as it is linked to many other crimes including anti-social behavior and violence," inspector Kylie Davies is quoted as saying.
