How do Korea's richest of the rich live their lives?

An upcoming Netflix reality show, titled Super Rich in Korea, is offering a look at the lavish lives of the country's top 1%.

The series will explore the lifestyles of Korea's super-rich, including CEOs of luxury brands rubbing elbows with international superstars at birthday parties, appearances at well-known international fashion weeks, and high-end supercars filling parking lots.

Additionally, viewers will be able to see inside the ultra-wealthy people's closets, where they will see exquisite couture clothing that is still beyond most people's price range.

Among the prominent figures expected to showcase their filthy rich life are Singaporean billionaire David Yong, Korea's exclusive luxury brand ambassador Yoo Hee Ra (also known as Korea's Paris Hilton), Pakistani royal family member Anna, Italian luxury brand scion Theo, and the "Arab Kim Kardashian" Noor Naim.

The show will be hosted by fashion enthusiast and comedian Jo Se Ho, GOT7's BamBam, and Oh My Girl's Mimi.

How rich is the top 1% in Korea?

Citing a local insurance firm's report, The Korea Herald stated that a person's net asset must be at least 3 billion KRW, or more than P126 million, in 2021 to fall into the top 1 percentile in South Korea.

More than a majority of the top 1% lived in the greater Seoul area, the report added.

According to Forbes' 2023 richest list, the wealthiest Korean in the world is private equity maven Michael Kim, who is worth $9.6 billion.

Super Rich in Korea is set to premiere on Netflix in April.
