Approval and trust ratings for Marcos and Duterte drop in latest Pulse Asia survey

President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte's approval and trust ratings in March 2024 went down after a slight improvement last December, a Pulse Asia survey showed.

According to the survey conducted on March 6 to 10, Marcos now has an approval rating of 55% from 68% and a trust rating of 73% from 57%, or a 13-point drop each.

Duterte, meanwhile, now has an approval rating of 74% from 67% and a trust rating of 78% to 71%, or a 7-point drop each.

In terms of region, Marcos’s approval ratings were the lowest in Mindanao, scoring 40% from 62%.

They also dropped in Metro Manila (55% from 68%), Visayas (54% from 66%), and even his bailiwick Luzon (66% from 74%).

As for Duterte, her approval rating in bailiwick Mindanao went down to 92% from 93%.

The vice president, who also serves as the education secretary, had a minor decline in Metro Manila (52% from 61%), Luzon (61% from 69%), and Visayas (64% from 73%)

In terms of income brackets, Marcos’s approval rating had the biggest decline in Class E, scoring 48% from 68%.

Class D had 56% from 69% and Class ABC 62% from 63%.

Duterte’s ratings in Class E went to 65% from 79%, while her ratings in Class ABC and D went to 62% from 63% and 56% from 69%, respectively.

Pulse Asia’s non-commissioned survey had 1,200 respondents with a confidence level of 95%.
