Major agencies issue 'mandatory kill' of Kate Middleton's Mother's Day photo due to editing concerns
International photo agencies issued a "mandatory kill" on the latest photo of Kate Middleton and her kids, saying it may have been Photoshopped.
In a new update shared by Kensington Palace, Kate was pictured with her three children, along with a caption thanking her supporters.
“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day,” Kate wrote.
This marked the first time the Princess of Wales had spoken out publicly since her major abdominal operation in January.
However, eagle-eyed users noticed that the photo had some inconsistencies, pointing out Charlotte’s hand did not line up with her red jumper sleeve. Others noticed that one of Prince Louis' fingers looked shorter than the others.
Agencies like AFP took down the photo "due to an editorial issue" and asked others to remove it from their online services as well.

"Mandatory kill. Due to an editorial issue this photo by the Prince of Wales has been withdrawn... and may no longer by used in any manner. Please immediately remove it from all your online services, stop using it in any other fashion and delete it from your servers," it wrote.
AP meanwhile said that there is an "inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand.”
"At closer inspection it appears that the source has manipulated the image," it said.
Getty and Reuters also took down their shared images of Kate immediately.
The Kensington Palace hasn't released a statement on this yet.
Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January and postponed her public engagements since.
She was last seen in public on December 25 last year, when she and her family went to a church service.
