Pets are now allowed on board at LRT-2 starting February 1
LRT-2 is now pet-friendly!
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) management announced that fur parents can finally bring their pets on board effective Feb. 1, provided they follow the guidelines.
LTRA administrator Hernando Cabrera said that only "certain-sized" pets are able to board its trains. He added that it must be in a cage or carrier and is wearing a diaper.
While the specific size of animals allowed is left unclear, the management discourages pets that are too big and bringing them during rush hours.
"Yung policy na pinapaikot namin ngayon dapat naka-cage. Kapag nakatali maaaring magkaroon tayo ng operational problem niyan sa loob ng tren o sa istasyon," he added.
Owners are also reminded to bring their pet's proof of complete vaccination.
Cabrera said that the same policy is yet to be decided for LRT Line 1, which is owned by the Department of Transportation through the Light Rail Manila Corp. He hopes that they will follow the suit in the future.
Early last year, the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 has seen an implementation of the same policy of bringing pets on the rail line.
