Flo Rida’s 6-year-old son in ICU after falling from fifth-floor window
Flo Rida’s 6-year-old child is still in intensive care following a terrifying fall from the fifth-floor window of their apartment.
According to a report by PEOPLE, the filing states that Zohar Paxton Dillard was “severely injured” and “has been disabled” after the incident that made him end up on a patch of concrete.
It noted that he also has an existing neurological condition called “hydrocephalus,” which is “caused by an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles (cavities) deep within the brain.” The National Institute of Neurological Disorders explained that the excess fluid “causes the ventricles to widen, putting harmful pressure on the brain’s tissues.”
Medical experts expressed worry over Zohar’s future, saying that he will “not be able to perform his usual functions.”
The filing also read that the American rapper (real name: Tramar Lacel Dillard)’s child “will in the future suffer great physical and mental pain and suffering" due to the serious injuries he suffered from the fall.
The boy’s mother Alexis Adams filed a lawsuit against the building’s management company for negligence. Through her lawyer Steven P. Haddad, she claimed that the establishment's managers maintained the property “in a negligent, careless, and reckless manner, creating foreseeable and dangerous conditions.” She also accused them of having “incorrect sized guards” on the windows, “even though these windows were on a fifth-floor story apartment, thereby breaching their duty of care."
In a statement provided to PEOPLE, Adams said, “As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces."
"It is devastating to see my child go through such pain and trauma, knowing that this could have been prevented. My son could have died! I wish I could take away his pain."
"My son's life will never be the same, and I hope that no other family has to go through a similar tragedy. I am just so grateful that my son is alive, fighting, and is still here with me. He's a real-life superhero,” she added.
Flo Rida, for his part, asked for continued prayers for the recovery of his child. “Thank you to everyone who reached out with their concerns and prayers for my son. He is getting the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall,” he wrote in his Instagram stories.
“I ask for your continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation but I would appreciate that this remains a private matter,” he continued.
