Chris Watts, who murdered his pregnant wife and kids, is sending 'racy' letters from prison — report
Sentenced to life for the murder of his pregnant wife and two daughters, Chris Watt is said to be corresponding with his female admirers, sending "racy" letters from his prison cell.
A jail source told PEOPLE Magazine that the killer, who is in a federal prison in Wisconsin, has been receiving letters from women since his arrest and trial in 2018.
"They send sexy pictures, and he responds," the source shared. "There are a lot of women who think he's handsome and misunderstood. They send him a lot of letters."
The magazine confirmed that Watts bought a lot of stamps and paper from the commissary. Prisoners are allowed to receive letters that are not threatening, but pornography is banned. However, there are no rules against suggestive images.
"He's got nothing else to do, so he feeds his ego in that way because he's not popular at all in prison. He's in protective custody. The only outlet he has is with these letters," said the source.
Watts met his wife Shannan in 2010 and got married in 2012. The couple had two children, Bella and Celeste, and was expecting a boy before the wife and daughters died at the hands of Watts.
The man reportedly strangled Shannan, 34, then smothered his kids, who were aged 4 and 3, on August 13, 2018. He was later arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder, receiving a life sentence.
According to authorities, Watts confessed to committing the murders because he was having an affair with a co-worker and asked for a separation from Shannan. Days before the murder, the wife confided about her crumbling marriage to a close friend.
A Netflix documentary, titled American Murder: The Family Next Door, was released in 2020 about the case, and it caused Watts to receive more mail as he sits in jail.
