We’re totally missing out on official Yakult ice cream offerings in Japan
Cherry blossoms are not the only thing we’re missing out on in Japan right now. There’s also an official Yakult Ice Cream Shop that introduces the probiotic drink to the sweet scene.
Yakult collaborated with Imada Kitchen for a pop-up store in Shibuya 109 in Tokyo, featuring a refreshing line of probiotic desserts that contain live cultures of lactic acid bacteria known as the Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota. Each treat is topped with a wafer shaped like a Yakult bottle, which makes it all the more worthy of a spot on the ‘gram.
Among the delectable offerings are shake, sherbet, soft-serve ice cream, and ice cream cup. A Yakult parfait is also available in two flavors: berry and caramel. Just click through the gallery to see what we’re talking about.
Unfortunately, the shop is open only until August and Japan is still not accepting tourists due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re one with Yakult lovers who are hoping they will be available again on the market when all of this is over. Better yet, that they would be available in Manila too.
