The world's biggest IKEA store is slowly but surely coming together.

Located at the SM Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City, the Philippine store is set to be the biggest IKEA flagship store ever with over 9,500 home items in stock.

In a post today, Aug. 4, the Embassy of Sweden in Manila took to Facebook to announce that they've been given a tour of the sprawling space by the head of IKEA PH himself. The store is set to open in the fourth quarter of this year.

"Get a glimpse of the first IKEA store in the Philippines and the biggest in the world!" the Embassy captioned.

"Thank you to Georg Platzer, Head of IKEA Philippines, for inviting Ambassador Harald and his wife Susan on a tour of the IKEA offices, warehouse, upcoming store currently under construction and hosting a Swedish “fika” at their co-worker restaurant."

The Swedish Embassy's photos showcase the IKEA offices, dining quarters, construction area, and the sprawling warehouse as far as the eye can see.

Upon closer inspection of the photos, one could already deduce how huge the complex will feel. With a reach of over 65,000 square meters, it's been famously compared to the size of over five football fields. For contrast, the Araneta Coliseum is only around 40,000 square meters.
