PhilSTAR Media Groups’ (PMG) Nakakalocal aims to put the spotlight on the country’s SMEs. Through their Love Local, Grow Global campaign, PMG set on a year-long series of mall tours with their advocacy of uplifting Filipino products. Last Nov. 26, the program went to the south of the Metro for its Kasosyo event, hosted by Robinsons Las Piñas. The mall tour featured 10 Filipino brands chosen by PhilSTAR Media.
With everything going back to normal, PhilSTAR is staunch in their advocacy of helping SMEs for their contributions to our country’s economy. Comprising 99.5% of the Philippines’ business enterprises which also employ about 63% of the country’s workforce, SMEs are seen as the backbone of our economy.
“Nakakalocal is an advocacy PhilSTAR Media started,” PhilSTAR EVP Lucien Dy Tioco said in his opening remarks during the event. “We’re doing this to help our SMEs and MSMEs. We’re doing that by helping them bring their stories to our platform. And with that, we’re thankful to Robinson’s Land for supporting the Nakakalocal program.”
Dy Tioco is joined by Angie Lou Tapales, the Marketing and Advertising Head of RLC Malls and Babes Adriano, PhilSTAR’s Print Advertising Manager.
Here are the featured SMEs during Nakakalocal’s stop at Robinson’s Las Pinas:
