Broadway stars Lea Salonga and Jeremy Jordan sing Almost Paradise, released on Salonga’s YouTube channel.
Almost Paradise is the love theme from Footloose, the 1984 film that catapulted Kevin Bacon to stardom and earned him a place in popular culture.
Almost Paradise was originally performed by Mike Reno of the rock band Loverboy and Ann Wlson, lead singer of Heart, with music by Eric Carmen and lyrics by Dean Pitchford.
Salonga is best known for playng Kim in Miss Saigon, for which she won an Olivier and a Tony Award. She was also the first Asian to play Eponine in Les Miserables on Broadway following her West End stint.
Jordan starred in Newsies and Joyful Noise; and opposite Kerry Washington (Scandal) in American Son, a role he reprised for the Netflix adaptation. He also starred in the movie adaptation of The Last Five Years with Anna Kendrick and has guested on several TV shows including Supergirl and Law & Order.
