LOOK: Baguio City's Christmas-themed Botanical Garden is now open

The moment Amihan season arrives, many people are making their way to the north to take advantage of the only time they can wear their knit sweaters in the country.

As the holiday season approaches, Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines is getting into the Christmas spirit in a big way. This year, the city’s Botanical Garden has been transformed into a stunning Christmas wonderland, inviting visitors to experience the season's magic amidst the cool mountain air and lush greenery.

On Facebook, the city's Public Information Office (PIO) announced that the Christmas-themed garden would open on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m.

The post also includes a sneak peek of the beloved garden's transformation into a festive wonderland, complete with festive lights, decorations, and a magical atmosphere that attracts both locals and tourists.

Visitors can enjoy the holiday spirit amidst the lush greenery, with traditional and modern Christmas displays scattered throughout the garden. The entrance fee is P100 for tourists and P50 for Baguio City residents.

Expect to see vibrant light installations, colorful lanterns, and life-sized festive figures, creating a charming and joyful ambiance perfect for family visits and photo opportunities.

In addition to its visual splendor, the Christmas-themed Botanical Garden offers visitors a chance to experience the best of Baguio’s local crafts and delicacies.

The Christmas-themed Botanical Garden is part of the city's Christmas celebration under Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong Executive Order No. 105, series of 2024, declaring the period from Nov. 25 to Jan. 6, 2055, as “An Enchanting Baguio Christmas 2024.

Other Christmas activities in the city include a local simulation of world-famous Christmas Fairs in European countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, and the Netherlands using a curated chalet in Rose Garden at Burnham Park, Christmas shows on weekends, the Inter-barangay Christmas Beautification Contest, and the ceremonial lighting of the Baguio Grand Christmas Tree atop Session Road on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., among others.
