The joy of being a new Lego builder
The first time I tried to assemble a Lego toy in my adulthood was last year when my granddaughter Orla asked me to help her assemble an 8+ motorcycle for her younger brother. She eventually gave up, and I became intrigued. My stepdaughters, Amy and Chloe, suggested I try the Floral Lego collection, so upon arriving in Manila, I bought a floral Lego set, and was immediately hooked.
But what truly sets Lego apart is the rewarding challenge it presents. Each construction becomes a puzzle waiting to be solved, testing my problem-solving skills. I am constantly challenged to think in new and innovative ways, envisioning the final result even before placing the first brick. It’s the ultimate exercise in patience, perseverance, and critical thinking.
However, amidst the excitement, there’s also a constant challenge that I face—making sure I don’t make a mistake with the color of the bricks, especially if they are within the same color spectrum. It’s a stumbling block that tests my attention to detail and keeps me on my toes. There’s nothing worse than realizing I’ve mistakenly used the wrong shade of blue or red in a sea of similar-colored bricks. But it’s all part of the journey, a constant reminder to double-check, take my time, and ensure that everything is impeccably connected.
Nevertheless, even with the occasional color confusion, the joy of being a Lego enthusiast outweighs any of these minor obstacles. I’m always eager to embark on my next project, tasting the satisfaction of completing another masterpiece, and relishing the challenges that come with it. So, I eagerly go to Rustan’s Toy department or Hamley’s in Central Square for my next Lego box, ready to dive in and create yet another world of wonders, one brick at a time.
The anticipation of the next Lego set is a thrill that I can’t resist. As I near the completion of my current project, my mind starts to wander, wondering which box I should get next. The possibilities are endless, and excitement builds up as I envision the endless hours of enjoyment that lie ahead.
And let’s not forget the sheer joy of displaying my creations. Whether it’s showcasing them in my home, filling my husband’s music room or our living room, each Lego creation adds a touch of creativity and whimsy to our surroundings.
So, if you’re looking for a fulfilling and immersive hobby, take the leap into the vibrant world of Lego. Join me on this journey of creativity, challenge, and endless joy. Let’s build, explore, and connect with a community that shares the same passion, and together, uncover the inspiring possibilities that lie within each colorful brick. Trust me, you won’t be able to resist the enchantment.
