Activision announced that the first two games in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise are getting remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The remake versions, which are set to come out on September 4, will feature the original maps, skaters, levels, modes, tricks and songs from the game’s soundtrack.

Originally released on the PlayStation 1 in 1999, the skateboarding game became one of the iconic games of the century as it paved the way for the creation of more games in 3D gameplay.

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk also broke the news on Twitter on Wednesday, which also marks his 52nd birthday.

‪#THPS is back! Original maps, original skaters, and songs from the original soundtrack… plus new features. Thanks to all the fans of our series for keeping this dream alive,” Hawk said.

“It was incredible to play the original games on PlayStation back in 1999 and to see the overwhelming response from the PlayStation community, so I’m excited to bring the game back to all the hardcore THPS fans on PlayStation again this year.” he said.

The remastered version will feature the full roster of legendary pro skaters such as Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Bucky Lasek, Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Bob Burnquist, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Rune Glifberg, Chad Muska and birdman himself.

Each skaters will have their own special moves like Geoff Rowley’s Darkside Grind and Tony Hawk’s iconic 900 trick. Apart from that, the game will also feature all of the original levels from the first two series in the game franchise such as the Warehouse and The Bullring.
