Nobita is finally getting married with Shizuka in 'Stand By Me Doraemon 2'

After a long wait, it appears that Nobita is finally getting his happily ever after with Shizuka in the latest Japanese CG-animated movie Stand By Me Doraemon 2.

The sequel to the 2014 film follows Nobita's journey as he travels back in time with his best pal Doraemon in a bid to meet his grandmother, who passed away while he was still young.

After the two finally meet in the past, Nobita realizes that he must also travel into the future to fulfill his grandmother's wish to see his bride. And as it turns out, Nobita is tying the knot with his childhood crush Shizuka.

The only problem is, Nobita's older version has gone missing after having cold feet during their wedding day. With his entire future hanging in the balance, Nobita embarks on a mission to find his older self so that he and Shizuka can finally get married and avoid an alternate reality.

Directed by Ryūichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki, Stand By Me Doreamon 2 is based on short films Doraemon: A Grandmother's Recollections and The Day When I Was Born.

The film first premiered in Japan on November 20 after months of being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to film distributor ODEX Private Ltd., the latest movie adaptation of Doraemon will premiere in Philippine cinemas in February. However, the film's exact release date has yet to be announced.
