For the fourth day of Geeked Week, Netflix put a spotlight on its newest and upcoming animated titles. During the showcase, the streaming giant debuted the opening minutes for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which is slated for a July 8 premiere.

The clip is set in the year 2000, following Jason and a group of soldiers called the Mad Dogs riding a helicopter in the fictional, war-ravaged nation of Penamstan. As they watch their comrades on another helicopter go down, the Mad Dogs defy orders to stay put and try to save the survivors. The soldiers hit the ground with guns blazing but as they try to save their fellow men, they are met with hostiles, including a giant grenade blast. Back in present-day 2006, Jason serves as a US federal agent alongside Leon S. Kennedy.

The CG anime series, based on the popular Capcom game franchise, will also see Resident Evil staples Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield back in action. Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness premieres on Netflix this July 8.
