How Sunshine Cruz prepared her body for recent lingerie fashion show
Sunshine Cruz, 47, turned heads with her toned physique at a recently concluded lingerie fashion show. What did she do to get her body ready for it?
In an Instagram post, the actress shared before-and-after photos of her preparation for Bench's Fashion Week Holiday 2024, which took place earlier this month.
She revealed that she began lifting weights in April with the help of her trainer, Rea Marie Ruff or Coach Iya, who has been a "fantastic source of motivation and guidance" for her.
"Remember, moms and ladies, with a little discipline, anything is possible," she wrote in the caption.
'Will to change'
In an interview with PhilSTAR L!fe, Coach Iya expressed her pride for Sunshine over the progress they have made so far.
The trainer stressed the importance of combining nutrition with exercise when it comes to staying fit. "I don't really restrict her with her food intake but we focus on clean food. No junk food and alcohol. Treats [are] very rare and on certain occasions only," she said.
Included in the local star's diet are eggs for breakfast; protein, vegetables, and red rice for lunch; and protein and vegetables for dinner.
According to Coach Iya, Sunshine trains three to four times a week.
"If she can't train with me, we make sure she has something to do at home or we have to catch up with the days she couldn't get to the gym," she continued.
Coach Iya told L!fe that they devoted a lot of time to her legs and glutes. "I have specifically designed a workout for her. I do it personally too so I know it works," she said.
Upper body and core workouts helped the actress build abs, she added.
When asked for advice on staying fit like Sunshine, Coach Iya stressed that it's all about having the "will to change."
"No one can help you but yourself. Whether your goal is losing weight, getting stronger, [or] achieving that body you've always [dreamed] of. None of it would be possible if you won't start today," she said.
"Always have a positive outlook—stay away from stress, drink a lot of water, and of course, [get] the right amount of sleep," she continued.
