Neri Colmenares

Neri Javier Colmenares is a human rights lawyer and was the Senior Deputy Minority Leader of the 16th Congress during his three terms as a member of the House of Representatives. He took up Economics at San Beda University and was awarded the Distinguished Bedan Award for Exemplary Government Service in 2015. He completed his law degree at the University of the Philippines and was awarded the Distinguished Alumni for Public Service by the UP College of Law in 2016. He was appointed Associate of the Asian Law Centre of the University of Melbourne in 2003, where he gave lectures on the International Criminal Court (ICC) and international humanitarian law while he was taking up his PhD on “The ICC and the Writ of Amparo.”
