BABETTE AQUINO-BENOIT, The Philippine STAR
While most of the Aquinos served in the government, Babette joined her kin as part of the forces aiming to be catalysts for change after the death of Ninoy Aquino. She then lived in Paris for decades, where as loving wife to businessman Paul Benoit, she imbibed French art and culture. She was a stylesetter at Rustan’s where she made her fashion RTW label. She did real estate in Europe, but is back in Manila after her husband passed, proving that Paris indeed is a movable feast. With a still patriotic palate, gastronome Babette’s feast is still mostly sinigang and adobo.
