A dog stuck in the rubble of a building that collapsed in Angeles, Pampanga has been rescued.

On May 25, the Angeles City Information Office shared that responders found a dog amid search and rescue operations from the structure in Barangay Balibago.

"Agad nilang inasikaso at inilipat sa ligtas na pangangalaga ng mga rescuers," their post read.

One video showed the pooch coming out of the rubble safely, happily wagging its tail as it saw an individual.

In a later update, the city information office shared that the dog is believed to belong to the foreman of the collapsed building being constructed. It is now under the care of the City Veterinary Office and is currently being kept at the Angeles City Dog Pound and Animal Shelter Compound.

The Veterinary Office assured that the dog has been given wet food and vitamins and is being monitored daily.

Four people have been reported dead from the 47 people affected by the collapse of the nine-story building on May 24. 27 of them were rescued, 16 are either reported missing or unaccounted for. The foreman was among those who were able to escape the rubble.

On May 25, Officials of the Unified Command System ceased their search-and-rescue operations at the site of the collapsed building.

Authorities reached this decision based on data from a Life Locator provided by a team from the Pasig City Local Government Unit. The search-and-rescue device had consistently found no signs of life in the area.

Beginning May 26, operations are focused on retrieval and clearing activities. Investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
