Sandara Park pushes back on Park Bom's drug use allegations: 'Groundless'
Sandara Park's camp has spoken up on drug use claims made by fellow former 2NE1 member Park Bom.
Park, through her close associate, denied the allegations on Tuesday, Mar. 3.
"Park Bom’s revelations are groundless," her representative told Korean media. "Sandara Park is worried about Park Bom’s current health."
On Mar. 3, Park Bom tagged Park in a now-deleted handwritten letter posted on Instagram, where she recounted a past issue involving drug use that makes her "cautious and scared."
"I’m being careful because I’m afraid it will cause another uproar, but the drug known as the psychotropic medication Adderall keeps weighing on my mind," she said, adding that she is not sick and has been doing well.
“It is not a drug. I am an ADD patient, something called Attention Deficit Disorder," she explained before dropping a big revelation about his co-member. "Sandara Park was caught for drug abuse, and to cover that up, they turned the medication into something labeled as a drug scandal involving me.”
"I hope YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk (YG Entertainment founder), Teddy (music producer), and Lee Chae-rin (2NE1 member CL) will stop reporting to the authorities that Park Bom used more than the prescribed amount of a drug she has not taken in nearly 30 years,” she concluded.
In 2010, Park Bom was involved in an issue after importing Adderall, which contains Amphetamine, into South Korea without customs clearance or approval from Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. She received a deferred indictment after it was ruled that the stimulant was for medical purposes.
2NE1 made their debut in 2009. The girl group is known for their hit songs like Fire, I Don’t Care, Lonely, Ugly, and Come Back Home.
YG Entertainment announced the departure of Minzy in April 2016. Their former agency confirmed that 2NE1 was parting ways later that year.
In November 2024, all four members of the group reunited in a Manila concert.
As reported by The Chosun Daily, Bom has been on hiatus since August 2025, citing health issues.
