Disney Cruise Line announced that the debut of their first Asia cruise, Disney Adventure, has been postponed to March 2026.

The new cruise ship was originally going to set sail from Singapore on Dec. 15 later this year, but in a letter sent to affected passengers obtained by CNA Lifestyle, Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, said that the cruise will not be able to push through with its initial date.

"As we bring this vision to life, we've encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process. To ensure every detail meets the high standards you expect from Disney, we've made the difficult decision to postpone the Disney Adventure's maiden voyage to March 10, 2026," the letter read.

"We regret that this change will affect your upcoming sailing. We understand how disappointing this news may be and sincerely apologize for the impact on your vacation plans. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to deliver an experience that's truly worth the wait," it added.

As compensation, Disney Cruise Line offered affected guests a chance to set sail on the new date at a 50% discount on the voyage fare. Reservations will automatically be shifted to the new date, and a confirmation with the updated statement reflecting the reduced fare will be sent by Oct. 8.

Guests who will not be able to set sail on the new date can request a refund by Sept. 21, but they are still eligible for a 50% discount that they can use on a future cruise.

The company noted that the future cruise must be booked by March 31, 2026, and that the cruise must depart on or before March 31, 2027.

With a gross tonnage of 208,000, the Disney Adventure cruise has an estimated passenger capacity of 6,700 with around 2,500 crew members. It boasts seven uniquely themed spots, such as a garden inspired by a century of Disney adventures, a dining and shopping area with characters from The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Luca, and a street market with interactive games, shops, and cinemas amped up with designs from Big Hero 6

For the accommodation, the Disney Adventure has Disney-themed rooms as well as its signature split-bath concept, which is designed to allow two passengers to use it at the same time.

The price for a three-night stay starts at $645.19 (P37,599.41), four-night starts at $674.95 (P39,330.69), and five-night starts at $1,268.99 (P73,926.92) for two people.
