Good news, motorists: Travelling at toll expressways in Luzon has just been made easier.

You no longer need to have multiple RFID accounts for different tollways starting Tuesday, Oct. 21 with the newly introduced unified RFID system.

The initiative was launched by the Department of Transportation and the Toll Regulatory Board, along with the RFID service providers Autosweep and Easytrip in a ceremony at the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Toll Operation Building in Calamba City, Laguna.

According to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, the single RFID system could help ease the lives of motorists by reducing stress and delays on the road.

"Kapag dumaan ka ng Skyway o TPLEX, Autosweep ang gagamitin mo. Kapag naman NLEX o SCTEX, Easytrip naman. Ibig sabihin, dalawang card[s], dalawang account[s], dalawang load para sa bawat biyahe," he said.

"Years of consultation and cooperation with the DOTr and the Toll Regulatory Board have finally led us to a unified system that responds to the real needs of our motorists," added Marcos. "And true to the spirit of public service, you work hand in hand, not because you needed to but because you wanted to make sure that the travel for all Filipinos is made easier. This is a true Filipino spirit—one of unity, bayanihan and pakikipagkapwa."

The DOTr, in a Facebook post, gave the following instructions on how you can sign up for One RFID, All Tollways:

  • Opt-in online and choose your preferred RFID Service Provider: AutoSweep or EasyTrip.
  • Remove the unchosen RFID sticker at the authorized customer service centers.
  • Load up your chosen RFID account.

Registration is free of charge.
