Angelica Panganiban is warning against a fake page using her name, photos, and business to engage in fraudulent activities.

In an Instagram post, the actress released an official statement about Mangrove Resort Subic, which her husband Gregg Homan also owns.

"It has come to our attention that a fake Facebook page under the name MANGROVE RESORT SUBIC has been falsely claiming to represent Mangrove," Panganiban, through her legal representative, said.

"This fake page is using Mangrove's name, branding, and/or likeness to deceive individuals by actively accommodating inquiries and accepting payments without the knowledge and consent of Mangrove with the clear intent to defraud those interested in the facilities and services of Mangrove," she added.

According to her, perpetrators have already scammed several people.

"If you have been communicating with a page claiming to be Mangrove, please verify its authenticity immediately," she said.

She encouraged the public to follow her resort's official Facebook account named "Mangrove Subic" with 580 friends listed.

"Any other page, especially those with similar names or profiles, is NOT affiliated with Mangrove and should be considered fraudulent."

She also asked the victims to report the incident immediately to local authorities and contact the resort.

"Mangrove treats this matter with utmost seriousness. We are in the process of engaging authorities who can spearhead an investigation into this fraudulent scheme and are committed to contributing to the identification of the individuals or group responsible for this criminal activity," the statement concluded.

Built in 2014, Mangrove Resort is located on Baloy Long Beach Road in Olongapo, Zambales, situated on a seaside cliff along the coastline of Subic Bay.
