Asia Rose Simpson of Quezon City is Miss World Philippines 2026
Quezon City’s Asia Rose Simpson emerged victorious as she was crowned Miss World Philippines 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Among the 24 delegates, Simpson’s performance also earned her several special awards.
Simpson stood out when asked how social media has helped or hurt society, answering with the poise that ultimately secured her the crown.
She answered: "Mental health issues are on the rise. One in seven children worldwide experience mental health disorders, and the World Health Organization realized that relays that 80% of adolescents don't meet the recommended levels of activity. That's where SED initiative comes in—my sports and dance initiative that specifically advocates for the physical, mental and emotional health of today's youth. Social media has so many benefits, it helps us all promote different businesses and organizations that helps us succeed. However, I think it's also used as a crutch for our creativity, for our social skills. Just let's use social media responsibly. Thank you."
The highlight of the night was the coronation, where outgoing queen and Miss World Asia 2025 Krishnah Gravidez of Baguio passed on her title to her successor. Adding to the international prestige of the event, reigning Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri was in attendance to witness the moment.
Alongside the main title, the organization announced Anne Demesa of Manila and Gabriel Fuentes Galapia of Pampanga as the first and second princesses, respectively.
The MWPH also named five other women who will be competing in the international stage: Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2026 Lorraine Ojimba (Rizal Province), Miss Teen International Philippines 2026 Olivia Grace Reilly (Sultan Kudarat), Miss Universal Woman 2026 Marizza Delgado (FilCom New York), Miss Tourism International Philippines 2026 Jayvee Lyn Lorejo (Davao), and Miss Global Philippines 2026 Valerie Pawid West (Ifugao).
Earlier in the evening, Simpson and Miss Ifugao Valerie West were also recognized as the standout performers of the swimsuit segment, while Filipino Community of New York Marizza Delgado won the Best in Evening Gown.
As for the Beauty with a Purpose award, Simpson was honored for her impactful mental health advocacy, the SED: Sports and Dance Initiative. Her advocacy tackles the global youth mental health crisis through sports ambassador roles and dance scholarships, having already impacted over 7,000 students worldwide.
She also won the Talent Challenge in the Fast Track competition.
