Mandaluyong court bars ex-'Eat Bulaga' host Anjo Yllana from posting about TVJ Productions
Mandaluyong City's Regional Trial Court has granted TVJ Productions' injunction complaint against former Eat Bulaga host Anjo Yllana, who is accused of making defamatory statements against the company, its show, and hosts.
An 18-page decision by Presiding Judge Gloria Monica S. Lopez, dated June 29, was released on June 30. With this, Yllana, his agents, representatives, and other people acting on his behalf are ordered to stop posting or resharing defamatory statements against TVJ and Eat Bulaga on TikTok and other social media or digital platforms.
Yllana is also ordered to pay the company P3.5 million in damages, attorney's fees, and costs of litigation, according to a Philippine STAR report.
The complaint stemmed from Yllana's TikTok videos and livestreams wherein he allegedly made false, malicious, and defamatory remarks against TVJ Production, Eat Bulaga, Senate president pro tempore Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
In November 2025, Yllana alleged that a "syndicate" operates within Eat Bulaga and that Sen. Tito supposedly had a mistress. The posts appear to no longer be available on the former host's TikTok.
The court also noted that it is not ruling on whether Yllana's posts are true or false, but whether TVJ Productions was entitled to an injunction and damages. According to law firm Respicio & Co., an injunction is a court order commanding a person to either refrain from doing a certain act or to perform it.
"We welcomed the Court's Decision as a definite vindication of the integrity of Eat Bulaga, its hosts, and its management, and of decades of trust that generations of viewers have placed in the program," TVJ Productions said in a statement sent to the STAR.
"The Court’s Decision stands as a stern warning that social media cannot be used recklessly to destroy the rights of others."
Meanwhile, Sen. Tito said that the injunction grant meant that the "justice system in the Philippines works."
"Fake news and besmirching reputations have no place in a sane society."
Yllana served as one of the hosts of Eat Bulaga from 1998 to 2020.
