Filipino shows 'Call My Manager,' 'Come Dine With Me: Celebrity Philippines' to stream on HBO Max
HBO Max is bringing a Filipino flavor to its lineup as it is set to showcase two local shows on its streaming service.
In a report by Variety, the platform is set to roll out five Asian originals between late July and late August, and two of which are from the Philippines.
The first one is an eight-episode HBO Original titled Call My Manager, which is produced by Erik Matti and Ronald “Dondon” Monteverde.
In a social media post, Matti detailed that the project is an adaptation of the French comedy series Call My Agent, which follows the fast-paced world of talent management as agents juggle demanding celebrities, personal dilemmas, and industry pressures behind the scenes.
"This project is as much a tribute to showbusiness as it is an irreverent and candid look at what we hate and love about our industry. Except for the main characters in the show that are fictional, every celebrity guest comes in as themselves. Buti game sila," the filmmaker detailed.
"Sa pagmamahal namin sa entertainment business, nilagay namin lahat ng nakakatuwa sa ating industriya. Pwedeng tawaging inside look kung audience ka. Pero matutuwa din ang mga insiders kasi makikita nila sarili nila sa mga characters," he added. "Para sa mga tsismoso at tsismosa at mga intrigera, watch this to see why we love this crazy world we’re in."
The series stars Judy Ann Santos, Edu Manzano and RK Bagatsing in lead roles and is set to premiere on Aug. 13. It was first premiered at QCinema last November 2025. At that time, Matti said that they were still not sure when the series will be released in the streamers, but was grateful that they were able to show the first two episodes during the film festival.
In addition to Call My Manager, HBO Max is expanding its Filipino lineup with a local adaptation of the hit British reality series, Come Dine with Me.
While much of the details are still under wraps, Variety reported that it will feature 20 local celebrities and public figures and will launch on July 23.
The original format of Come Dine with Me features four to five contestants from the same area who take turns hosting three-course dinner parties in their own homes.
After each meal, guests privately score the host on food and hosting skills during the ride home, with the highest scorer at the end of the cycle winning a cash prize. The show is known for bringing together contestants with strong and often clashing personalities.
Other Asian titles that HBO Max will launch include Fired Up! and The Producer from Taiwan and The Invisible Guest from Indonesia.
