EDSA to serve as main route for Galaxy Manila Marathon 2026
Runners! Are you ready to conquer the full stretch of EDSA?
The Manila Marathon 2026, set for June 12 to 13, will see participants running a 42K along the main thoroughfare that starts at SM Mall of Asia and ends at SM North EDSA.
According to the marathon's website, the run is the "premier running event in the Philippines" aimed at welcoming "runners from around the world to streets alive with history, culture, and passion."
While the map is yet to be announced, the run aims to "explore the rich cultural heritage of Manila, Philippines."
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Atty. Don Artes said that the agency is already coordinating with concerned local government units in its traffic management measures along EDSA for the safety of marathon runners.
Gun start is set for 11 p.m. on June 12, with EDSA traffic expected to ease by 7 a.m.
The MMDA will release traffic advisories and rerouting schemes ahead of the event.
Aside from the 42KM run, there is also a 21KM, 10KM, and 5KM. Runners as young as 13 years old can join the event.
Race freebies include a singlet, bib, finisher’s medal, finisher’s towel, and drawstring bag, depending on the run.
