Singapore's By Invite Only makes its PH debut with first pop-up
We all have those few pieces in our jewelry box—the understated rings or dainty chains we never take off, whether we’re running quick errands or dressing up for a big event. They’re the subtle accessories that instantly make us feel complete. Capturing that quiet confidence is at the heart of Singaporean brand By Invite Only.
When founder Trixie Khong launched the label in 2009, she named it with a wink: true luxury isn't about exclusivity, but about craft that belongs at every occasion.
"It's jewellery for every invite. So every time you get asked out for a wedding, or even just brunch with your girlfriend, you can find something that you would love at five bucks only. So it's more like an event- or occasion-based, and we like to journey with our customers," she told PhilSTAR L!fe during the pop-up media event.
In an Instagram post, Khong shared that the brand began as a hobby, with her handcrafting jewellery after school and selling her pieces at flea markets. What started as a small operation eventually grew from making jewellery in a modest office space to a 6,000-square-foot studio.
They have since opened stores across some of Singapore’s popular shopping destinations, including VivoCity, JEM, Tampines 1, and Changi Airport.
Now, the brand is making its way across Asia, including the Philippines, with its first-ever pop-up at Kopi Kaki, a neighborhood coffee shop in BF Homes, Parañaque known for its traditional Singaporean and Malaysian kopitiam fare.
Asked what prompted the decision to bring By Invite Only to the country, Khong pointed to the strong response they had already received from Filipino customers through their online store.
"We've been sending orders online through the online store to the Philippines, and we've been getting quite good feedback. So we thought it was time for us to step out of Singapore and start meeting our Filipino customers," she said.
The brand is currently bringing two of its latest collections to the Philippines. There’s the Miffy collection, which the brand first worked on in 2025, and another collection inspired by the iconic 90s toy, Polly Pocket, released this September. The latter takes inspiration from the seaside, with pieces featuring seashells, palm trees, and interchangeable charms.
Khong explained to L!fe that the brand’s collections are shaped less by trends and more by the everyday experiences and stories that inspire the team.
“It’s inspired by everyday interactions that we have with our team, our customers, and also what we see when I travel. So it’s not so much trend-focused, but more about how we can weave in the stories that we grew up with into modern-day designs and make a cute character elegant and suitable for daywear as well," she said.
After the pop-up, Khong shared that they’re planning to open a physical store in the Philippines and are currently in talks with several malls about a potential location.
By Invite Only is available inside Kopi Kaki Kopitiam in Tahanan Village, 15 Presidents Avenue, corner Don Rufino Ave., Parañaque, until Oct. 31. The cafe is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
