Blackbough brings its tropical energy to its first pop-up store in Manila
Known for their signature bold prints and trendy cuts, Blackbough is finally bringing that endless summer energy to the city. While they’ve long been a staple in Siargao, Boracay, and even the US, the brand has officially landed in Manila.
Open through May 31, the Power Plant space offers a rare chance to skip the shipping times and dive straight into some of their best selling collections.
"We’re really excited to finally be here in Manila," they told PhilSTAR L!fe. "Blackbough has always been rooted in the Philippines, so a longer-lasting physical space here felt like a natural step. Our local community has grown so much over the years, and it felt like the right moment to finally meet them in person and be here for the summer."
From longtime followers to first-time buyers, the kiosk is all about the in-person experience, allowing you to mix, match, and curate a look that feels you.
"It’s a more personal, laid-back way to shop the brand," they said.
Their styles, ranging from cheeky bikinis to retro takinis and monokinis, are not just for Instagram—they're also made for function.
"For us, it’s never been one or the other. We design pieces that look good but are also made to move with you, whether you’re swimming, exploring, or just out for the day. There’s a range of styles depending on how you like to spend your time, from more minimal sets to fuller coverage options. Plus we have men's shorts for matchy moments," they said, highlighting their commitment to size inclusivity.
And, adding to a season of firsts, Blackbough is expanding into scent. The brand has collaborated with the trending fragrance house Guava Smells to create its very first perfume, On Vacation, which is available at the store.
Even if the stay is only for the summer, Blackbough wants every customer to leave the pop-up with a specific sentiment: "That feeling of being on vacation, even just for a bit. We want the space to feel easy, warm, and a little like an escape—something you carry with you after you leave."
