The Pokémon theme park in Tokyo is now open. Here's what you need to know about tickets
The first permanent Pokémon theme park in Tokyo is officially open to visitors.
Located within the Yomiuri Land amusement park premises, PokéPark Kanto spans up to 2.6 hectares and features two areas: the Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.
The woodland area has a 500-meter-long trail with different terrains Pokémon fans will be familiar with, like tall grass, tunnels, hilly paths, and more. Here, they can see figurines of Pikachu, Eevee, Diglet, Starly, and more.
In Sedge Town, tourists can check out attractions and shops for merch, food, and drink, such as the Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, and a gym for playing with Pokémon friends.
Also inside the town are Pikapika Paradise, a ride "powered" by over 30 electric-type Pokémon, and Vee Vee Voyage, a merry-go-round ride where you can hop on Ponyta, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, and more.
How to get tickets
The excitement for the theme park is real, as all presale tickets for dates until the start of April 7 are already sold out. According to the PokéPark Kanto website, tickets for admission go on sale two months before. For instance, tickets for April 28th to 30th go on sale on Feb. 28, 6 p.m. Japan Standard Time.
Guests residing outside Japan, like those from the Philippines, can purchase tickets here.
There are three ticket categories: Town Pass, Trainer's Pass, and Ace Trainer's Pass.
The Town Pass starts at JPY 4,700 (P1,750) for those aged 13 and up, and it includes entry to Sedge Town. This price point was made for visitors who cannot visit the Pokémon Forest. According to the website, those guests who cannot walk up a 110-step staircase and children under 5 years old are not allowed in the woodland zone.
On the other hand, the Trainer's Pass begins at JPY 7,900 (P2,900) and grants unlimited entry to Sedge Town and a single entry to the Pokémon Forest.
Those looking for unlimited access can opt for the Ace Trainer's Pass, which starts at JPY 14,000 (P5,200). It also comes with other perks like special meet-and-greets, a reserved seat at the Sedge Gym Show, one-time use of priority lanes for attractions, and original merch.
