Man gets stuck in chimney while trying to escape police

A man who was attempting to escape from police ended up needing to be rescued after getting stuck in a chimney.

BBC reported that Robert Langlais, a 33-year-old man in Fall River, Massachusetts, tried to flee through the rooftop during the search carried out by the Fall River Police Department.

According to ABC News, a bystander heard the man "screaming" by the chimney when he was discovered. In body cam footage by authorities, a detective was heard saying, "Hey! He's on the roof. Get down here!"

Firefighters were immediately alerted about what happened, and they knocked out bricks to get the man out of the chimney.

"Due to his Santa-antics," police said, "Langlais was transported to a local hospital out of caution."

Langlais is now detained in connection to drug charges and others from outstanding warrants.
