If you’re looking to unwind without just staying in bed, there are several events happening around the Metro—from concerts and pickleball games to cosplay events. Check them out below:

May 15 to 17: What's It All About at The Proscenium Theater

Celebrate a night of OPM with the Maestro’s magic as National Artist Ryan Cayabyab returns this May through the MaestroClass Concert Series’ WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT, a celebration of the timeless music of Burt Bacharach. The concert brings these beloved songs to life through performances by Jett Pangan, Bituin Escalante, Gigi de Lana, and Sofronio Vasquez, with special participation from Baihana.

May 16 to 17: 'Goût de France' at Paseo de Roxas

Spend a weekend with jazz and French flavors and join “Makati Street Meet presents Goût de France” at Paseo de Roxas this weekend. Enjoy smooth jazz and eclectic rhythms from The Didactic Doodling Guitar Duo, Eric Soulard, and DJ JB Bolaños while indulging in authentic French cuisine, refreshing drinks, and an open-air dining experience.

The event is happening on May 16 (10 a.m. to 11 p.m.) and May 17 (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Admission is free.

May 16: Bridgify Studio x Mejo's 'First Night'

Explore new music from indie artists at Bridgify Studio and Mejo's "First Night," a celebration of local talent happening on Saturday, May 16, 8 p.m. at MEJO Kitchen & Bar, Diliman, Quezon City. 

Included in the lineup is The Thinkers, an alternative rock band formed in October 2022. Though new as a group, its members—Troy, Anthony, and Yanna—are experienced musicians from the Philippine underground scene. Also joining is Hingalima, a six-piece indie rock band that debuted in 2024, with a sound influenced by Paramore, Imago, and Moonstar88, and solo artist Hans Kaiser, hailing from Butuan.

May 16: Jessica Sanchez Live in Manila

America's Got Talent season 20 winner Jessica Sanchez is returning to the Philippines with a star-studded lineup of guests this May 16 at Araneta Coliseum.

The lineup of artists includes Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Darren Espanto, Morissette, and James Reid.

There’s also a Meet-and-Greet experience you can avail for P7,500, which includes exclusive perks such as a meet-and-greet session with Sanchez, one solo photo with her, an autograph, a VIP ID and lanyard, a souvenir item, early access to the venue, and priority access to the merchandise lane.

Sanchez last performed in the Philippines during the New Year's Eve concert at Manila Marriott Grand Ballroom.

May 16 to 17: Weekend Pickleball games in Bonifacio Global City

Fond of pickleball? Spend a weekend of action at the Weekend Pickleball Games, which features clinics, open play, exhibition matches, and crowd challenges with the FRIDAY Pickleball Crew. You can also watch PPA professionals and FRIDAY Pickleball ambassadors Kevin Dong and James Lin in action, along with exciting celebrity exhibition matches.

Everyone is welcome to join and play, regardless of whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player. The event will be held at the 5th Ave. Central, BGC from May 16 to 17.

May 16 to 17: FanFes at One Ayala

Anime and cosplay fans will gather at this year's FanFes happening from May 16 to 17 at Space at One Ayala.

Expect cosplay contests, cosplay karaoke, and meet and greet with guest cosplayer Ryukku-K. There will also be a talk about navigating online criticism to be joined by cosplayers Katiecakey, Pomponmy, and Hazel Velas-Solomon of T-TEES.
