BIR extends deadline for online merchants to display registration seal badge to Oct. 31
All online businesses must display their Bureau of Internal Revenue Seal Badge on their websites and social media accounts starting Oct. 31.
The BIR extended the deadline for this requirement through Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 99-2026,
According to the agency, this extension gives covered taxpayers sufficient time to secure and properly display the seal badge as proof of registration.
The badge, which lets consumers know that a business is registered with the BIR, must be shown prominently on stores' websites, e-commerce or marketplace pages, social media pages, and other digital platforms.
"The Seal Badge is meant to make registration more transparent and easier for consumers to verify, so we encourage all concerned taxpayers to use the extended period and complete the requirement by October 31,” BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza said in a statement.
Those who fail to display the seal badge on Oct. 31 may be fined and penalized.
The requirement to display proof of registration is a requirement under Revenue Regulations No. 7-2024 (Section 5H) and No. 15-2024 (Section 7).
Existing registered online businesses can get a BIR registration seal badge via the bureau's ORUS.
They must update and validate their information and pay a P30 documentary stamp tax. Afterward, they can generate and download their badge.
