Fortnite confirms refunds on d4vd in-game items
Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite players will be refunded for their in-game purchases related to American singer d4vd.
On Sunday, Apr. 26, Fortnite Status' X account made an announcement following complaints from players after the rapper was linked to a murder case.
“We hear the concerns. We have a bunch of changes we’re rolling out over time. The first one will be available on Tuesday April 28th, when anyone who purchased one of these items will be able to get an immediate self-service refund,” the post said.
"And, right now, players who request refunds for D4vd cosmetics via player support can be refunded," the statement concluded.
D4vd items in the game include the Feel It and Trophy Drop emotes, and the What Are You Waiting For and Locked and Loaded Jam Tracks.
Some players are also clamoring for the free D4vd emotes to be eliminated.
The video game company has yet to confirm if it will remove d4vd cosmetics entirely from the game.
In 2025, d4vd's Locked & Loaded became the game’s first official theme song.
Last April 17, d4vd was arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenager found decomposing in his abandoned Tesla car in Hollywood Hills. Days later, he was charged with murder and dismemberment.
The 21-year-old, identified as David Anthony Burke, reportedly had a relationship with a 14-year-old teen and could face the death penalty over the alleged crime.
