Nadine Lustre on why she's not yet ready to be a mom

Nadine Lustre admitted she is not ready to take on the role of a mother, as her focus remains on her career.

During an interview with TV Patrol, where she discussed the motherhood theme of her upcoming film, Call Me Mother, Lustre admitted that she is scared of becoming a mother.

“Nakakatakot maging nanay, honestly,” Lustre said. “I’ve been working for as long as I can remember, and I can’t imagine having another responsibility other than my career.”

She said that she is focused on her career, her boyfriend Bariou, and their businesses. The couple owns the plant-based coconut milk brand Dehusk, Maison Bukana Wines, and Maison Bukana resort in Siargao.

“Parang ‘di ako ready. So saludo talaga ako sa mga moms,” she said.

In 2023, she shared in Bea Alonzo's vlog that she was terrified of giving birth but is open to the idea of adoption.

“First of all, takot ako manganak. 'Yun talaga 'yung pinaka-reason kung bakit ayaw ko magkaroon ng kids ng sarili. Takot ako mabuntis, takot ako manganak,” she said.

“Ang dami kasing kids na walang parents. Right now, parang my mind is set on adopting,” she said.

Lustre went “Instagram official” with Bariou in January 2022, months after they sparked dating rumors in August 2021.
