Starting Monday, June 6, Maya is reducing its InstaPay fund transfer fee to other banks from P15 to P10.

"With this update, customers who need real-time transfers to other banks can send money at a lower fee," Maya said in a statement on Saturday.

The digital bank added that the move aims to make digital banking "simple, accessible, and affordable for more Filipinos."

This follows remarks from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona Jr., who expressed optimism that more financial institutions will soon lower or waive interbank transfer fees.

"Natutuwa lang ako na nababa na ang transfer fees," Remolona stated on Friday, encouraging wider industry adoption. "Kung marami kasama, mas maganda, diba? So dapat ang entry fee mababa, kung pwedeng zero, mabuti."

Maya joins local banking giants like BPI and RCBC, which have also recently announced initiatives to waive their InstaPay transfer fees.
